Seminar Series on contemporary migration jointly organized by GAR and IFEA Migration and Mobility Study Group (aMIMO) is starting. In the first seminar of 2019-2020 program, Eda Elif Tibet (University of Bern) will give a presentation titled “Migration in Musical Documentaries: Close Encounters and Third Space.” The seminar will be held in Cezayir, İstanbul on October 25 at 18.00-20.00.

Seminar Series on contemporary migration jointly organized by GAR and IFEA Migration and Mobility Study Group (aMIMO) is hosting two scholars from France. These two speeches, which will focus on historical and ethnographic approaches will be followed by a discussion session. The event will be held in English.

The Incorporation of Syrian Healthcare Professionals in Turkey: Temporal Horizons and Partial Integration, Souad Osseiran

In her presentation, Dr. Souad Osserian will focus on a rarely studied topic: she will discuss the incorporation of Syrian healthcare professionals into Turkey’s health system. To this end, she will analyze the project, which is based on employing Syrian healthcare professionals in Migrant Healthcare Centers in Turkey.

“Refugee Management Between Turkey and Europe, Past vs. Present” by Timothy Reno

Timothy Reno, the Director of IPLI Foundation, will provide a comparative analysis of the situation of Greek migrants of Greece and League of Nations after the Turkish-Greek Population Exchange which gained a legal ground in the 1923 Lausanne Treaty and those of refugees who crossed into the EU from Turkey.
